Librarian Consultation

Research librarians are available to assist with finding and using information and library materials. Consulting with a librarian may help you find specific articles, books, and other information; navigate databases and other information sources; identify sources for researching a topic; and develop research plans.

To ask a question, email lawref@cornell.edu or call the Reference Desk at 607-255-3242. Please allow 24 hours for a reply. A librarian is also available for in-person service at the reference desk in the Gould Reading Room Monday through Thursday, 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Members of the Cornell community may schedule a virtual or in-person appointment with a research librarian for in-depth consultations. Email lawref@cornell.edu or call the Reference Desk at 607-255-3242 with your status (e.g., law student or graduate student), the subject of the consultation, and times when you would be available to meet. Librarians are unable to provide any type of legal advice to library users. Providing such advice violates the rules and laws governing the practice of law.
