A reminder in this time to be kind to one another.
Law Library News:
- We know it is unseasonably warm right now, but the cold is on its way! The Reading Room might start getting chilly (tall ceilings make it hard to heat an old room) so bundle up and bring your sweaters.
Law Library Resource Highlight:
- If you are starting to find yourself spending way more time in the library these days, don’t forget that the library has chargers for your phones and laptops at the circulation desk that you can borrow for a couple hours. The law library even has travel adaptors if your phone or laptop is from another country!
- If you find yourself already beginning to study and outline for classes, the Law Library has various Online Study Aids to help, which you can explore through our guide here: Online Study Aid Collections – *Law Databases – LibGuides at Cornell University.
- Past exams that you can use for practice can be found on the Registrar’s Website in the Exam Archive.
Local Library Highlight:
- Not a library, but this event involves a librarian and books! Buffalo Street Books will be hosting a community conversation and celebration on the life and works of writer and activist James Baldwin this Saturday, November 9th at 2:00pm at 215 North Cayuga Street. Kofi Acree, director of the Africana Library at Cornell, will facilitate a conversation with Professors Anne Adams and Kenneth McClane who will discuss the impact that Baldwin had in the U.S. and throughout the world and will be sharing personal stories about Baldwin. You can visit: James Baldwin: A Celebration & Community Conversation to sign up for the event. The event will commemorate the centennial of Baldwin’s birth. Attendees will receive a copy of a centennial essay collection from Beacon Press while supplies last. The $10 general admission fee for the event is to help Buffalo Street Books keep its doors open.
