Welcome to the Thanksgiving edition of Keywords that honors that blessed time of year when law students stop and give thanks…for more study time. It may be Thanksgiving Break, but we all know that while the law library staff is away, the law students will…study. Whether you’re staying in the won-for-ate-five-oh, or traveling to far-flung locales, here is what you need to know to have a safe yet studious Thanksgiving Break.
Away Message
We will be out of the office and the library beginning 2pm Wednesday. We will have less than limited (read: absolutely no) access to email until we reopen at 9am Monday. If you miss us, you can still use your Cornell ID to spend some time in the law library. Don’t worry, we won’t keep you completely unsupervised that whole time. The circulation desk will reopen at 12pm Sunday, so you have extra time to get ready for that back to school rush.
Thanksgiving Tip: Staying in Ithaca with no Thanksgiving dinner plans? You are not alone! Join your fellow Cornellians at the 34th Annual Celebration of Gratitude Dinner on Thursday.
Whether you are staying local or traveling this Thanksgiving, we hope you take a moment to acknowledge that Cornell University is located on the traditional homelands of the Gayogo̱hó꞉nǫ’ (the Cayuga Nation) and honor the ongoing connection of Gayogo̱hó꞉nǫ’ people, past and present, to these lands and waters.
We will be back next week with a new edition of Keywords. In the meantime, don’t forget to wear your mask, spend a minute or two with some online study aids, and take a nap. Or three. Have a safe and happy Thanksgiving!
