Libraries and Hours Ask a Librarian

Law Library

11am – 5pm Law Community only - Full Hours /

Keywords – May 5, 2022

Congratulations. You’ve made it to the final Keywords, aka the ultimate edition which follows the penultimate issue which is only appropriate since we have finally reached the ultimate moment of the semester. It’s the finals countdown (aka, finals week). You may be thinking to yourself, “I won’t be doing any of that, but thank you.”; unfortunately those exams aren’t going to study for themselves. So, let’s get to it. Finally.

Your Exclusive Study Haven

This is the end (of the semester). Hold your breath and count to ten. Look around the (Reading) Room and then, see your fellow law students. For this is the end. You’ve made it to this moment of exclusive access for all Cornell Law students.

Helpful Tip: From now until Friday, May 13, library staff will be making sure only law students are occupying library seats. Keep your Cornell ID out on your desk/table/carrel, with the law sticker facing up so we can easily confirm your status.

Really Helpful Tip: Remember to keep your Cornell ID, and other possessions, with you at all times. Now’s not the time to have your laptop swept away and stolen.

The Cantwell Prize

Do you have a scholarly research paper from the last 12 months just lying around and gathering dust somewhere? Don’t let your work and words just gather dust in vain. Submit that paper by May 18 to the Cantwell Prize and let your work and words be awarded one of two cash prizes. The Law Library: purveyor of knowledge, newsletters, and money.

Thanks for Completing Our Survey

Thanks to everyone who completed our student survey. Keep an eye out for an announcement about the prize drawing!

It’s been an honor being your weekly law library newsletter this year. We’ll be taking a hiatus until next semester. In the meantime, come to the circulation desk or email lawcirc@cornell.edu for your law library needs, email lawref@cornell.edu for your legal research needs, and remember that exams is just a plural four letter word.
