It’s the first Thursday of the semester, so you know what that means. Welcome back to the White Lotus…ahem, Keywords, the only weekly law library newsletter you missed more than your favorite seat in the Reading Room. Winter Break was definitely the longest time you’ve spent away from the library in ages, so allow us to make like a Miss Universe contestant and reintroduce you to the who, what, when, where, and why is Gamora of the Law Library.
The Circulation Desk
Do you need to pick up the materials you’ve requested from the library catalog, Borrow Direct, or Interlibrary Loan? Have you lost your lucky stylus? Did you forget to bring your phone or laptop charger? Need some headphones to listen to your favorite study playlist? Come to the Reading Room concierge, aka the circ desk, during our library hours. Our staff will be more than happy to assist you.
The Reference Desk
Are there any laws dictating the number of people needed to change a light bulb? Which online legal database should you use to find out what happens if a tree falls in a forest when no one is around? Do you know how to get started when the deadline for your writing assignment starts screaming, “It’s me. Hi. I’m the problem. It’s me?” Come to the Reference Desk – conveniently located at circulation – during our in-person hours or email us at lawref@cornell.edu. Our research librarians will be more than happy to assist you.
The Printers
Do you have this irresistible urge to print out your hundred-page class syllabus and then leave it next to the printer? Would you like to learn the ins and outs of how to replenish the paper recycling bin with your printing castoffs? Want to discover the best way to get your files out of your computer and into the printer? Stop by the CU Print tabling event TODAY in the Law Library from 10am – 12pm for answers to all your printing questions.
