Marília de Souza de Mello

Bitner Fellow
2018
Marília de Souza de Mello visited Cornell in July 2018. She is the director of the Law Library in the First Federal Court House of Brasilia, Brazil. During the fellowship, she studied best practices and innovations in law library services and met with members of the Cornell Law Library and Law School community. She also visited New York City to meet with librarians at the US Court of International Trade and the US Second Circuit Court of Appeals. De Mello also attended the 110th Annual Meeting of the American Association of Law Libraries (AALL) in Baltimore, Maryland and concluded the fellowship with a presentation to Law Library staff about legal research in Brazil. “It was brilliant to meet other librarians and professionals who shared with me their knowledge in a context completely different from my reality, as a law librarian of a federal court in Brazil…Thank you all for allowing me the opportunity to expand my skills through this fellowship. Special thanks to the Bitner family who has funded this opportunity, because otherwise this experience would not have been possible.”
