KEYWORDS: Law Library Weekly Newsletter

Knock knock. It’s Keywords, the weekly law library newsletter that you’re most thankful for. The season of giving thanks is fast approaching, which means it’s almost time for you to face down eleventy billion exams. You might be feeling slightly less than thankful about spending all your time in the library, so allow us to help you flip your perspective and find reasons to be thankful for your home away from home – the Law Library.

Giving Thanks

We will be closed for Thanksgiving Break from 2pm Wednesday, November 23 until 12pm Sunday, November 27. We know that 4 days is basically a lifetime in law student years. But don’t worry. You can email us for reference help or come to the circ desk for library materials right up until we shut down for Break and forget all about the Law Library. J/k. We would never. You may also converse with our out of office messages until our services resume after Break. If you find yourself in a pickle during our absence, remember this: for emergencies, call 911. For everything else, try Google. Or an online legal database.

Study Self-Care

If you’ve ever been in the library on a day that ends with “-day” between the hours of midnight and threat level midnight, you’ve probably caught on to the fact that the Reading Room is THE place to be for law and non-law students alike. What sets you apart from these Socratically uninitiated youths is that you can access the library whenever you’d like, even during Thanksgiving Break. So go ahead and enjoy your time with Emanuels. Relax like you’re in CALI. Get cozy with some flash cards. Whatever floats your gravy boat.

Acknowledge

As you are taking a break from your studies this Thanksgiving Break, take some time to acknowledge Native American Heritage Month. If you find yourself suffering from legal studies withdrawal, explore the ABA’s programs and resources, from play performances to discussion panels, that celebrate the culture and history of Native people in the United States.

We will be back next month with a new edition of Keywords. In the meantime, have a Happy Thanksgiving!
