KEYWORDS: Law Library Weekly Newsletter

It’s Thursday (or Friday or Saturday or whatever day of the week you are reading this). Must mean it’s time for another edition of Keywords, the most-read weekly law library newsletter since records were kept. Speaking of keeping things…

Is This Yours?

We get it. It’s hard to keep track of things: deadlines, the time, the reason you decided to go to law school. If you think you have lost track of something more tangible – say, for instance, a notebook, your lucky stylus, your identity because you’ve mislaid your wallet with your Cornell ID in it – then check the Lost and Found in these three locations: the Circ Desk if you lost your item in the library, the Registrar’s Office if you lost your item elsewhere in the law school, or CUPD if you lost something valuable. Like your wallet. With your Cornell ID in it.

Is That Ours?

We have established that it’s hard for mere mortals such as law students to keep track of things. But, we noble library workers get to put barcodes on everything, from books, to umbrellas, and that really handy charger you just borrowed. So, the next time you borrow one of our really handy chargers, please be sure to return that same charger and not one of yours. That way we can spend our time keeping track of our chargers, instead of trying to track you down.

Do You Want This?

We have an immediate job opening for a research assistant to work with Professor Jacob Sayward on a writing project about Law Practice Technology. If you consider yourself to be really good at keeping track of citations and sources with your stellar Bluebooking and legal research skills, then this position could be yours! All you have to do is email a short statement of interest, your resume and brief writing sample to jes77@cornell.edu.

We will be back next week with a new edition of Keywords. In the meantime, if you need help tracking down a case, a secondary legal source, or just a friendly law librarian to talk to, come to the reference desk or email us at lawref@cornell.edu.
